Portland Grand Tasting – A Special Passport Celebration in Portland.  This Portland Passport preview event features 25+ wineries (including Maryhill) from the Columbia Gorge pouring their world-class wines for one day only!  Socialize with some of their winemakers pouring the wine and discover for yourself the passion and craft that goes into every bottle of Gorge wine. 

$35 Admission for the Portland Tasting includes a Passport for the April Passport month in the Gorge (a $25 value in itself), as well as tastings from 25+ Gorge wineries, hors d'oeuvres, and a commemorative wine glass.  Tickets will be available online starting February 27 and, if not sold out before the event, at the door (admission will also be available without the Passport for $25.) Must be 21 to attend.

Hood River Hard-Pressed Cider Fest Event Details.  Hood River Hard-Pressed Cider Fest offers up 38 Ciders from 19 local and regional craft cideries.  Eight of the cideries are located in the Hood River area – an indication of how the Columbia Gorge region is at the epicenter of the Pacific Northwest’s booming cider scene.  To accompany the ciders, festival-goers can dig into offerings from the area’s vibrant food scene.  The daylong event also features local arts vendors, a kid’s area and a lineup of local music, from bluegrass to classic rock.  Entry tickets are $5 (ages 14 and under are free) that includes a branded cider glass and 4 drink tokens. 3315 Stadelman Drive

Gorge Grapes Weekend - A Special Passport Weekend Event.  Explore the essence of what makes the Columbia Gorge Wine Region “A world of wine in 40 miles.”  With so much diversity of climate and soil, the Gorge has the ability to grow many unique varietals, from the familiar to some of which you’ve probably never heard of.  The Gorge wineries (including Maryhill) will be showing off their own unique offerings and new releases, teaching about local viticulture and providing the opportunity for comparative tastings.  Come see what all the fuss is about and experience something new! Apple Valley Blossom Festival, Dessert Party and Country BBQ.  Apple Valley’s famous desserts are showcased during the Blossom Festival Dessert Party with fresh baked pies, cobblers and crisps.  Sample over 50 different varieties of jams, syrups, pepper jellies and pie fillings. The Country BBQ will be served featuring cherry wood smoked ribs, pulled pork and chicken sandwiches and our pear coleslaw and cider baked beans.  After enjoying the festival visit one of the local wineries and wine bars or restaurants.  Admission is free. Hood River Valley Harvest Fest.  Celebrate Hood River’s harvest season at the Gorge’s biggest fall festival.  This old-fashioned three-day festival brings together 125 vendors offers a cornucopia of seasonal produce & food, wine, cider and beer tastings, and local arts & crafts.  There are also family-friendly activities and live music.

Festival-goers can load up on boxes of Hood River favorites, including fresh pears, apples, pumpkins, berries and flowers, and a smorgasbord of foods, from pies and jams to smoked salmon and chocolate-covered cherries.  Hood River Harvest Fest is also a great place to get a head start on holiday shopping.  Visitors can browse an array of arts and crafts by regional artists, including glass, wood sculpture, ceramics, photography, jewelry, fiber art and much more.

Hood River Valley Harvest Fest is held along the scenic Hood River waterfront, with kiteboarders and windsurfers zipping along in the background.  Prices are per day: Adults $6, Seniors $3 on Friday/$5 Sat & Sun, Active Military $3 on Friday/$5 Sat & Sun, and dkds under 12 are free.  No charge for parking.

Cathedral Ridge Winery Tasting Room and Tours.  Create your own wine experience from a variety of choices at Cathedral Ridge Winery.  Craft a flight of six wines from their award winning wine list with their Standard Tasting, or step up for the Reserve Tasting with seven of their current Reserve wines. Want learn what it takes to be a fully functioned craft winery then sign up for their Tour and Tasting with a Cathedral Ridge Winery staff guide or experience a Barrel Tasting with an exclusive look at the wine making process along with tastings straight from the barrel and a gourmet food platter to round out the experience.
