Apple Valley Kiwanis Wine Country Trek.  The Prosser Kiwanis Wine Country Trek, held in conjunction with the Prosser Balloon Rally Weekend, is the original Wine Country Trek.  This year sports a great new route beginning and ending in Prosser, Washington – the heart of wine country. The route roams through Yakima Valley past wineries, vineyards, cherry and apple orchards.

You will leave Prosser Saturday morning and enjoy a pleasant ride along the Yakima River.  Then turn north and pedal past vineyards and orchards with stops for great snacks and lunch at a local winery.  After lunch coast back into Prosser and enjoy tasting wine at local wineries. In the evening you will be treated to a wonderful prime rib and salmon dinner provided by the local Knights of Columbus paired with local award winning wines.

After dinner you will have the choice of attending the Balloon Rally “Night Glow” or participate in some of Prosser’s Harvest Festival doings.  Early Sunday morning you will have the opportunity to watch the balloons take off for their morning flight.  After breakfast, you will leave Prosser and head east through more beautiful farm country.  Again, the rest stop snacks are tasty and plentiful.  Riders enjoy lunch at a local winery and then back to Prosser for showers and departure.  For more information call 509-786-8973 or e-mail info@kiwaniswinecountrytrek.com.

Sunrise (balloon launch)
The Great Prosser Balloon Rally.  Hot air balloons take to the sky at The Great Prosser Balloon Rally.  Balloon Pilots from all over the Northwestern United States will converge on Prosser Washington to participate in The 24th Annual Great Prosser Balloon Rally.  Spectators are encouraged to arrive early (about 6:15 a.m.) at the Prosser Airport to watch the pilots prepare the giant balloons. Some lucky spectators are even asked to assist the balloon pilots inflate, chase, and recover the Hot-Air-Balloons.  Parking and Admission are free.

Come for a weekend full of family activities including the Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Launches, Night Glow, Harvest Festival, Farmers Market, and the Caren Mercer-Andreason Street Painting Festival.  While in Prosser visit the local wineries and restaurants.

Horse Heaven Hills Trail Drive.   Experience one of the Pacific Northwest's most unique and memorable wine trails! The Horse Heaven Hills Trail Drive is held annually on the third Saturday in July.  You'll meet the growers and vintners behind some of Washington's most storied and highly rated wines, and be an important part of supporting our scholarships in viticulture and enology.

Each Trail ticket includes a logo glass and wine tastings at all stops.  Please allow four to five hours to complete the wine trail.  It is suggested to bring an ice chest to keep wine purchases cool as well as plenty of water.  Complete information will be sent shortly after registration.  Tickets, map and logo glass are picked up the day of the Trail Drive at the start of your selected tour. Kids under 10 may eat for free at the BBQ.  Limited tickets at the park...CASH ONLY.  Designated drivers encouraged.  For additional information e-mail info@horseheavenhillswinegrowers.org.

PDX Jazz Presents: Poncho Sanchez and his Latin Jazz Band at Waterbook Winery.  Spend an evening at Waterbrook Winery with Latin jazz legend Poncho Sanchez, presented by the non-profit cultural arts organization PDX Jazz.  For more than three decades as both a leader and a sideman, Grammy Award-winning percussionist Poncho Sanchez has been described as a kaleidoscopic swirl of Latin jazz, swing, bebop and salsa.  In addition to amazing music there will be (for purchase) Latin-inspired cuisine, select white and red Waterbrook wines by the glass or bottle and featured craft beers.

Tickets are $40 general admission with seating on the lawn with blankets and low sand chairs; rear patio viewing access is also available.  No outside food and beverages, please.  This is a family-friendly show with children 12 and under admitted free.  Select from a limited number of VIP table seating is available in a prime viewing area at $50 per seat or $400 per tables of eight seats (VIP tickets also include a Sunday, June 1 wine tasting at the Waterbrook tasting room - must be age 21 or older with ID).
